Last weekend was the second of four peak meets, this one being at Purdue for their Rankin Invitational. This meet consisted of mostly athletes from the sprints and Mid D, and served as their final meet. Given that, let’s get into the specifics.
For the women, there were only sprinters who competed in the meet. Abby Ralph was only a 100th of a second off from her PR in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.04. Jess Ayers also ran pretty well recording a season PR in the 400m dash with a time of 60.08. The highlight of the day for the women came in the 4×100 meter relay of Ralph, Ayers, Lauren Jonen, and Becky Haight when they set the new club record with a time of 49.46!
The men’s side also consisted of mostly sprints and Mid D, and likewise had some solid performances. From the sprints Mateusz Lopez, Jake Baier, and John Brandenburg all had club PRs in the 100m dash with times of 11.31, 11.50, and 11.57. Running well in the 200m dash was the afore mentioned Baier, Brandenburg, as well as Beau Barber with times of 23.35, 23.98, and 24.62. From the Mid D squad both Keith Lee and Cody Hansen ran well in the 800 both coming through with season PRs of 2:00.10 and 2:08.44 respectively.
